Vaccine Comparison
This project compares online social media discussions with vaccination rates across COVID-19, influenza, MMR, and HPV vaccines. It asks how public attention moves across vaccine topics and whether the volume and sentiment of online discussion reflects vaccination behavior on the ground.
The work shows how COVID-19 came to dominate vaccine discourse, redistributing attention away from other vaccines. It also points to a persistent tension in public health analytics: online debate is powerful evidence of attention and concern, but it is not the same thing as actual vaccination uptake.
